About Me

Hey everyone,

My name is Grant Garibay. I'm a Northern California native. I have been to most of the US including Hawaii and spent about 5yrs on the east cost, in the Hampton Roads area of VA. I have been wanting to start a blog for some time now, but have been reluctant to do so because I was lacking a purpose. I could feel something driving me but could not identify what the source was. The only thing I could do was regurgitate others information without the real life experience, and I didn't want to just me another talking head. I wanted to provide authentic value, so I kept my nose down observed, did, studied, and finnaly I got what I was looking for. After 25 years on this planet, with jobs from real estate agent, welding 500 ton dump trucks to peanut tractors, from retail to call center, from teacher to swim coach, with many in between, I have found my calling... win-win problem solving.

I started out of high school hating education with the idea of freedom on my mind. At 18 I was making $45,000 a yr, had a girlfriend, and had an 11x 11 studio apt. I thought I was the king of the world. Little did I realize that I was in the honeymoon phase of hell. After about 6 months of 18hr days I realized that life must have more to offer. I asked around, and all of the "old dudes" at the time told me to run for the hills and get out while I still could. Hence, my journey back to CA and back into college. I will elaborate on the details later but suffice to say, I learned that life is what you make it, what you give is what you get, god is love, and emotional fear is an illusion preventing you from seeing the love in yourself and in the world. I am on that journey today, scraping all of the dirt and grime off my "lens" as I can. This blog is about sharing some of the observations I have made along that journey.

To sum it up I believe life's experiance can be sumed up in two quotes...
  1. Life is the only game where the object of the game is to learn the rules. - Ashleigh Brilliant
  2. You can't break the rules, you can only break yourself against the rules. - Unknown
This blog is dedicated to reviling my journey to learn the rules (or truths) in life, what I have found, and thoughts, systems, or philosophys that contain "Truths".

Happy reading,

Grant Garibay
